The Winter Olympics!

Today, everyone will create a poster about the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.  First, you will need to do some research using the websites that I have provided below.  Everyone will open the blank Olympic poster that is located in your network folder. Your poster must include the following information:

  1. The name of your favorite Winter Olympic athlete and WHY this is your favorite athlete.
  2. List your favorite Winter Olympic events.
  3. Include at least 3 fun facts about the history of the Winter Olympics.
  4. Insert 1 or 2 photos in the spaces provided.  I have saved some photos for you in your network drive that you can use.

Things to Consider Before You Comment

This morning, we will discuss appropriate ways to comment on your classmates’ blog posts.

The following slides are from the Langwitches Blog and they will help us review the difference between social commenting and academic commenting.  In school, we will ALWAYS use academic commenting.

I will need to approve all your comments, so please be sure to follow these guidelines!  During Technology class today, I will ask you to respond to a question on Kidblog.  Once you have finished writing your response (your post), you will read some of your classmate's posts and choose one on which to comment.  Your comment must be thoughtful and academic.
