Animal Trading Cards

Today, I would like you to finish the animal trading card project.  Please note the following:

1. If you have not finished filling out the worksheet, please click on this link and finish that first:
http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/animals/creaturefeature/

2. Open your network folder and click on "animal trading card blank" (this is a Word document).

3. Once open, everyone will see 2 animal photos and you must replace these images with the two animals you have selected.  Please PAY ATTENTION while I teach you how to insert new photos!

4. Don't forget to type the animal name inside the little blue box on top of the photo - the first letter must be capitalized.

5. After every colon (:), you must have 1 or 2 spaces and then a capital letter.

6. Your name must be capitalized.

7. Do not add a period after your facts UNLESS you have typed a complete sentence (then, you MUST include a period at the end of that complete sentence).

8. Don't forget to SAVE when you are finished.

When you are finished (and an adult has checked your work for grammar and any misspellings), you may have free choice from the 3rd Grade Tech Blog.

Animal Research & Create Animal Trading Cards

Today, we will begin by spending some time exploring the National Geographic Creature Features website. You will need to choose two animals (make sure they are from two different classifications - mammals, fish, birds, insects, reptiles or amphibians), then do a bit of research about those animals.  Fill in the worksheet provided and then we will begin to create animal information cards with photos and facts about our animals!
The National Geographic site can be found here:
